Goat Decapitation in Elysian Park
Justin Taines and Thomas Mahoney joined me on what has become an every other day hike around Elysian Park. These hikes have come to be known as “Dad Hikes”. Simple yet brilliant title. Ever seen family photos of a Dad on top of a mountain with his children, proud, kids smiling, conquerers all of them. We are trying to asimillate these experiences, even in the mundane state we are now living within, yes we want to escape. Half way around “Dadder Mountain” we came across a group of Latina woman who warned us of a giant snake right up the path. Sure enough he was there, stretched from side to side, slithering to an unknown hole, a pocket, a home, a cavern of mice skeletons and from the fear struck in me, humans as well. We stopped, stared and waited. To our masculine demise a tough little woman walked by and said, “it’s only a garden snake, it’s not poisonous”. We laughed like, oh yea, we were thinking the same thing. Then she turned and said, eyes sharper than a rattle snakes diamond jaws, eyes that scratch mirrors, “Earlier today I found a dog, paws tied, decapitated here in the park”. Then she turned and sallied forth into the unknown. So maybe there are cults in the park we figured. The Dog turned out to be not a dog at all, but a goat. Yes a goat was sacrificed in Elysian Park last night. From the looks of it, this can only be satanic. Story below.
